June 6

Seeing and savoring God Himself is the ultimate good that humanity was made for. Pray that the gospel would continue to spread throughout the world and draw people from every tribe, nation, people, and tongue into God’s kingdom (Revelation 7:9).

June 5

As Christians, eternal life in God’s presence is to be our ultimate hope. Ask the Lord for a deeper sense of joyful expectation in His coming kingdom. Seek to connect your daily life with this wonderful hope of glory.

June 4

We were designed to glorify God. Pray that God would help you see how your deepest passions, hopes, and dreams ultimately connect to Him. Ask for the grace to perceive any ways you need to alter your hopes and expectations to bring them into alignment with God’s will.

June 3

The world can entice us to focus on our own glory, and it can be hard to remember that God’s glory is in fact the highest good we can seek. Ask the Lord to help you see His glory as of primary importance in your life, and to increase your delight in Him.

June 2

Hebrews 12:28 says, “Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe…” God’s kingdom cannot be shaken, and His complete victory over evil is assured. Spend some time pondering this truth as something to celebrate, to be deeply thankful for, and to hold in awe.

June 1

When we pray this last part of the Lord’s Prayer, we are stating plainly that the glory belongs to God. Are there areas of your life where you feel a desire for personal glory? Pray that the Lord would transform those desires and bring them into alignment with His purposes.

May 30

Pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ in your immediate community as well as across the globe, some of whom are experiencing violent persecution in addition to temptation. Ask for God’s protection and guidance, and that He would use times of suffering for His glory and our good, as He has promised.

May 29

Praying “deliver us from evil” is also a request for spiritual and physical protection. Thank God for how He has protected you in the past, for how He is currently protecting you (even in ways you cannot see), and for the promise that He will protect you eternally.

May 28

Praying “deliver us from evil” is a prayer for deliverance from the evil within us as well as evil outside us. Ask God to continue to purify you with His love and grace.

May 27

Temptation can occur in times of prosperity as well as in pain. In prosperity, we may be tempted to think that we do not need God. In suffering, we may be tempted to despair or rage at God. Pray for grace and endurance to continue to trust in God regardless of your circumstances.
